Crispy Potato Cubes (Taste of Home)



INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
Cooking Directions
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt, thyme, marjoram and pepper. Add potatoes; seal bag and shake to coat. Pour butter into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish; stir in the garlic. Add potatoes and bay leaf.
  • Cover and bake at 450° for 20 minutes. Uncover and stir; bake 15-20 minutes longer or until potatoes are lightly browned and tender. Discard bay leaf.

Bisteak

One of my favourite dishes from home, back in Jakarta my mom often made it for us. The meat were so tender with tasty sauce and crispy thin sliced fried potatoes hmm.. yummy... Don't forget to sprinkle some fried shallots on top of it.



Ingredients:
1 pound thinly sliced beef loin
2 cloves garlic
1 medium shallot
3 medium potatoes (thinly sliced & deep fry until golden brown)
3 tbs oyster sauce
1 tbs chinese cooking wine
1 tbs sweet soy sauce
1 tbs salty soy sauce
1 tea spoon corn starch or tapioca flour
Salt n pepper to taste
Fried shallots (garnish)

How to make:
1. Well covered the beef with corn starch, then marinate the beef with 2 tbs oyster sauce and chinese cooking wine for about 15 min.

2. Heat 2 tbs cooking oil in a wok. Add garlic & shallot, stir fry until fragrant.

3. Add the beef, cook until tender. Then add the rest of the oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, salty soy sauce, deep fried potatoes mix well. Add salt & pepper to taste.

4. Garnish with fried shallots.

Fried Noodles w/ Chinese Sausages



Ingredients:
1 package Lo Mein Noodle (see cooking direction on the package)
3 medium shallots, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 candlenut
3 red thai chilli (optional)
1 package of fish meatballs, cut into 2 pieces each.
2 Chinese sausages, diagonally sliced
Chinese cabbage,only the leaves
250 gr chicken breast fillet cut into cubes
2 eggs
1 small carrots cut into matchsticks
1 tbs salty soy sauce
11/2 tbs oyster sauce
2 tbs sweet soy sauce
Salt n Pepper to taste

How to cook:

1. Ground spices: In a food processor blend shallots, garlic, candlenut, chillis, u can add some oil to blend it well.

2. Add some cooking oil and then crack the eggs. Scramble the eggs set aside, and later mix in with the noodles.

3. Heat the wok with 2 tbs cooking oil, stir fry the spices until fragrant. Add the carrots & chicken, cook for 10 min or until tender. Add sausages, fish meatballs, chinese cabagge and the eggs cook for about another 5 min. Then add the noodles, stir and add the salty soy sauce, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, mix it well.

4. Garnish with fried shallots & indonesian pickles


Indonesian pickles:
1 cucumber cut into small cubes
1 carrots cut into small cubes
5 green thai chillis
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
3-4 tbs sugar
